Benediction from yesterday's sermon Invitation to Witness

Benediction from yesterday's sermon Invitation to Witness.

This week as you go out in the world, remember

you have been invited to be a witness;

put aside your fear and doubts,

God will be with you,

God will protect you,

God will bring you home.

And we end with a few words from Martin Luther King Jr.

on having faith that God is good and just…

When one believes this, he knows that the contradictions of life

are neither final nor ultimate.

He can walk through the dark night with the radiant conviction

that all things work together for good for those that love God.

Even the most starless midnight may herald

the dawn of great fulfillment.” *

*MLK quote is from his book Strength to Love.
